Course Number: IHDD 3010/7010
Description: This course is designed to provide students with a varity of learning experiences in the field of disability through the completion of prescribed activities in the areas of research, directed readings, product development, and/or direct service under the supervision of the instructor. IHDD 3010/7010 offers two options: (1) Independent Directed Study in Disability [PERMISSION OF DEPARTMENT REQUIRED], and (2) IHDD Core Seminars. Disability Issues Across the Lifespan |

Description: This course focuses upon current topics in the field of disability and their influence on legislation, policy, and funding at the state and national levels. From institution to community, idleness to employment, isolation to inclusion, changing trends in values, practices, and technology will be explored in relation to their impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities and the service delivery systems.

Supporting Adults With Disabilities |
Course Number: IHDD 4002/6002
Description: This course will describe the transition process as individuals with disabilities leave school and prepare for adult life including postsecondary education, employment,independent living, and community participation. In addition, the course will focus on life transitions for individuals with disabilities of all ages as they transition from segregated to integrated environments and experience community living, career advancement, adult education, and recreational pursuits. Will not be offered during Spring 2007, will be offered Spring 2008. See IHDD 5970/7970.

Description: This course focuses on the support of individuals with disabilities and their families through team-oriented collaboration. Team models, organizational aspects of teams, individual roles and attitudes, interpersonal factors, individual and group diversity, and leadership are addressed in relation to successful collaboration.
