    IN THE NEWS...

  • IHDD Experts on Disability Speakers' Bureau
    IHDD Experts on Disability Speakers

When people with disabilities speak out with their own stories, audiences listen, learn, and often change the way they live, work and play! IHDD Experts on Disability Speaker's Bureau may be the best advocacy tool you've ever used.

Individuals who have lived in state institutions, and moved to the community share their experiences and how their lives changed when they became citizens in the community. They share the traumas and how they coped with their situations. Their compelling stories and positive sense of humor bring us to new levels of understanding and dispel the myths surrounding individuals with disabilities.

Gail Bottoms, Toney Al Duvall, and Marian Jackson are three experts on disability who are available by appointment to speak at public or private gatherings in the hope that their stories will create changes and help others understand the necessity to get to know the individual first, rather than judging them by their disability.

Visit the Experts on Disability website for more information.
