Financial planning

Activities/Honors

I am a member of the Student Financial Planning Association (SFPA), the National Council for Negro Women (NCNW) and Georgia Daze. I volunteer with LemonAID, an organization dedicated to cooking and distributing meals to displaced shelters and people around Athens neighborhoods and communities.

Why I chose my major

I chose financial planning because of my passion for helping people, especially minorities. Secondly, I have a passion for teaching financial literacy to Black people, because it is not readily available to us through our educational system. Lastly, I want to create a diverse representation within the financial world.

What I like most about FACS

One of my favorite things about FACS is the feeling of family and a great sense of belonging. Since I was a freshman, I have been able to cultivate meaningful relationships with students, professors, and my advisor, Christie Sanders. The professors genuinely care for their students’ well-being, both academically and personally. My classmates have become some of my closest friends because of the relationships we have formed in class.

Post-graduation plans

After graduation, I plan to move to Charlotte, North Carolina to pursue my career. I will be working for Vanguard in their Financial Advisor Development Program (FADP).
